The Xie Lab is an experimental condensed matter laboratory at Rice University. Our research aims to design, create, characterize, and manipulate novel emergent phases in quantum materials and and explore new design concept for next-generation quantum devices. We achieve this using van der Waals assembly, nano-fabrication, quantum transport measurements, and scanning probe microscopy techniques. We are also interested in pushing the boundary of the existing scanning probe microscopy capabilities by developing new sensors and measurement protocols necessary to address the pressing questions in quantum condensed matter physics.
