The Xie Lab is an experimental condensed matter laboratory at Rice University. Our research aims to design, create, characterize, and manipulate novel emergent phases in quantum materials and devices. We achieve this using van der Waals assembly, nano-fabrication, transport measurements, and, most importantly, scanning probe microscopy techniques. We are also interested in pushing the boundary of the existing scanning probe microscopy capabilities by developing new sensors and measurement protocols necessary to address the pressing questions in quantum condensed matter physics.
